Shawn's artworks overflows with positive optimism and a natural simplicity, it is a reflection of his Indigenous lineage, grounded earthy energy, spiritual sensibilities, joyful enthusiasm and a sense of celebration for living life in the moment; such is his attitude to life. Enjoying an open and creative approach, he captures the human experience and context for living in the natural world in various forms infusing together Indigenous symbols, vibrant colours, spiritual centeredness and the sophistication of simple black and white imagery. "One enjoys and explores one’s inner connections and outer contextual experiences with one’s place in Nature. One loves the idea that complexity is simplicity in chaos. One’s art comes from one’s sense of belonging and beingness of spirit – a direct conduit for divine expression.”
